Cortie

An AI assistant for Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.

Cortie is a Mac app that works as a camera. You pick it in your meeting app's video settings, where it shows up next to your webcam. Its answers then appear on your video, so everyone in the call sees them, and nobody else has to install anything.

A camera, not another meeting tool

Before you pick the camera

  1. Drag Cortie into your Mac's Applications folder and open it from there. macOS only turns on camera extensions for apps in Applications.
  2. Follow Cortie's setup checklist. Its Turn on the Cortie camera step opens System Settings, where you switch the camera on.

After that, Cortie appears as a camera in your meeting apps.

AI assistant for Zoom

  1. In Zoom, open Settings → Video → Camera.
  2. Choose Cortie.

Zoom remembers your choice, so you only do this once. If Cortie isn't in the list, quit Zoom, open it again and look once more.

AI assistant for Google Meet

  1. In Google Meet, open Settings (⚙) → Video → Camera.
  2. Choose Cortie.

Meet remembers your choice, so you only do this once. If Cortie isn't in the list, reload the Meet tab and try again.

AI assistant for Microsoft Teams

  1. In Microsoft Teams, open the settings where you choose your camera.
  2. Choose Cortie as your camera.

If Cortie isn't listed in any of these apps, check that the camera step in Cortie's setup checklist is done. If Cortie says macOS didn't start the camera, turn Cortie off and on again in System Settings, or restart your Mac.

Then start a meeting in Cortie

Picking the camera alone isn't enough: Cortie answers only while a meeting is running in the Cortie app.

Now start with “Cortie” and ask in one breath, for example “Cortie, what's 18% of 4.2 million?” The answer appears on your video.

So the answers read correctly

In your meeting app, turn off mirroring and virtual backgrounds for your video. Otherwise the answers on your picture can come out hard to read.
